Woow Cards spotted at EAGx Cambridge (UK)

EAGx conferences are known for a specific kind of intensity. They are hubs for effective altruism, where some of the sharpest minds in the world gather to debate high-level problem-solving. The energy is often fast, cerebral, and incredibly focused on the ‘out there.’

But in March 2023, we saw a shift.

Ollie Bramford brought some questions from the woow cards to the Cambridge Guildhall where the conference took place. The mindfulness session he led using the woow prompts created a pocket of stillness inside the whirlwind.

Looking at the feedback from that session, it is clear that even the most intellectual rooms are hungry for a place to drop in. The facilitator noted that the cards weren’t just a fun icebreaker, but a necessary “container” for the session.

“The whole experience… affirmed to me the potential for a woow card deck to be a very invaluable tool for group facilitators.”

When you are running a session for people who live in their heads, you need a tool that gives them permission to inhabit their bodies. The cards provided that bridge. They shifted the room from analyzing the world to connecting with the humans inside it.
